Intercept Passive Sonar System is a modern passive sonar system, having field proven high performance, enabling comfortable and convenient usage with its operator friendly user interface, whereas advanced and robust signal processing technics and advanced algorithmic solutions are evaluated.
STATE OF THE ART ACOUSTIC ARRAY AND PROCCESSING UNIT DESIGN
IPS system using the latest sensor technology is capable of detecting, analyzing and tracking active acoustic signals in 1 kHz-100 kHz frequency band, integrated with the Turkish National Submarine Combat Management System (MÜREN-SYS) and with the cylindrical hydrophone array available in the submarine.
IPS system consists of acoustic receiving sensor unit and processing unit. System control and display functions are performed through the operator console. The processing unit can also be fed from its own sensor unit or Cylindrical Hydrophonic Array (CHA) available on the platform for the signals in 1-12 kHz frequency range. System offers the operator a choice for the sensor to be used as the data source.
IPS is capable of analyzing multi pulses simultaneously and measuring the Detection Time, Bearing, Frequency, Level, Pulse Length, Pulse Repetition Interval, Transmission Mode (FM / CW / COMBO) parameters of detected pulses. Additionally, Level - Time, Frequency - Time and Level - Frequency pulse graphs are plotted. IPS is capable of playing real-time direct and synthetic audio to the user. The system offers the operator an adjustable threshold and short pulse suppression function to reduce false alarms. The system supports recording and audio-visual replaying of detected pulse data. Recorded pulse data can be exported via a portable disk. External software to extract the recorded pulse data for future analysis is also provided.
