MERTER Portable Electronic Attack System to Protect Armed Forces from RF Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIED) Traps

The Portable Electronic Attack System (MERT/ MERTER), signed at IDEF 2019 between Presidency of Defence Industries, Turkey and Meteksan Defence Industry, Inc., exhibited for the first time at the Meteksan Defence booth at IDEF 2021.

The Portable Electronic Attack System (MERT/MERTER) is an Electronic Warfare (EW) system used in V/UHF frequency bands to prevent target elements from communicating at a remote distance. The Portable Electronic Attack System, developed to meet different operational needs, will be able to cover the entire V/UHF frequency band and take part in the protection of a fixed facility or the protection of a moving vehicle/convoy from RCIED traps. MERTER, has been designed for single person use and can be easily transported by a single personnel. Also Meteksan Defence develops vehicle mounted or fixed version which is called MERT.

MERT/ MERTER have also been developed in a structure that can simultaneously detect targets in the entire operating frequency band with its channeled broadband receiver unit.

MERT/ MERTER can be controlled by a smart tablet or computer while activating the electronic attack with its high gain directional and omnidirectional antennas. In addition, the system has been designed to be controlled remotely via a radio link, if desired. MERT/ MERTER can be powered by its own batteries, and also be operated over the generator/vehicle alternator/mains.
