ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System Will Spot the Target with Retinar FAR-AD Drone Detection Radar

The use of drones is spreading rapidly for intelligence or terrorist attacks and it is very difficult to detect them by traditional security measures. A small drone can destroy a target or even drop an explosive payload that can cause catastrophic damage on critical facilities or military bases. Therefore, the detection of a mini/micro UAV is crucial in order to neutralize it.

Meteksan Defence and Roketsan signed a contract with a ceremony held on the first day of SAHA EXPO Exhibition regarding “Procurement of Drone Detection Radars”. The contract was signed by Murat İkinci, General Manager of Roketsan and Selçuk Kerem Alparslan, President of Meteksan Defence. The agreement includes procurement of Retinar FAR-AD Drone Detection Radar and integration of the radars into Roketsan’s ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System.

ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System [DEWS]; uses electromagnetic and laser technology against asymmetric threats as very close hybrid air defense system. Additionally, Retinar FAR-AD scans large areas automatically and detects the drones in every weather condition. Retinar FAR-AD provides the location, distance, speed, and direction information to the operator. The integration of Retinar FAR-AD Drone Detection Radar into ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System will bring a new dimension to drone neutralization.
